Terms of use

1. The site

Circulaires Québec is a personal project operated by 16555985 Canada Inc. (the operator). It gathers grocery flyer prices to help compare. Prices and information come from the flyers and can contain errors or be out of date: they must always be checked in the flyer or in the store before buying.

2. The account

Creating an account requires an email and a password, accepts a name (optional) and requires ticking the box that confirms acceptance of these terms and that the privacy notice was read. The information given must be accurate. An account belongs to one person only, and its password must stay confidential. The site sends no emails: a forgotten password is handled by a request to hello@circulairesquebec.com.

3. Permitted use

The site is to be used in accordance with the law. Forbidden: trying to reach accounts or data that are not the person's own, overloading the site, copying its data in an automated way and at scale, or harming other people who use it. The operator may limit or close an access that harms the site.

4. What is done with the information

In short (the detail is in the privacy notice):

• The account: email, password (as an encrypted fingerprint), name (optional), version and date of acceptance of these terms, postal code, stores and dietary preferences, to run the account.
• The list, history, followed products and recipes opened: kept to find the list again on several devices and to offer suggestions. Without an account, the history is tied to an anonymous identifier of the browser.
• Scanned receipts: the photo is sent to DeepSeek, which reads it (or, when DeepSeek does not answer, read on the operator's computer), then deleted; the site keeps what the receipt says (the store, the date, the lines, the totals and the text read, without card or loyalty numbers) and uses it to improve its prices, its suggestions and the site itself; the person can delete a receipt or a line at any time. The text of the product lines is also sent to DeepSeek to recognise the products.
• Visits: every page opened is counted, with no IP address saved.
• Google Analytics receives information about each visit (pages opened, IP address and browser as Google sees them, actions in the site). No choice is offered.
• The chat: the text typed is sent to DeepSeek, whose servers are in China; it may be used there to improve its models. The site does not save it, except with 👍/👎 or Share.
• No information is sold.

5. No warranty, use at the person's own risk

The site is a personal project, offered free of charge and as is, without warranty. Flyer prices and information are indicative and can contain errors. Use is at the sole risk of the person who uses it, to the extent permitted by law. These terms do not remove any right the law grants, nor any obligation of the operator regarding the protection of personal information.

6. Outside providers

The site relies on outside providers: network protection and traffic handling (Cloudflare), statistics (Google Analytics), artificial intelligence for the chat and the scanned receipts (DeepSeek) and product photos (grocers' sites and Open Food Facts). These providers process some information for the site under their own terms, which the site does not control; the site remains responsible for the information it entrusts to them. What these providers do on their side is beyond the operator's control.

7. How long

• The account and everything it owns are kept while the account exists. On written request to the address above, they are deleted (the operator erases them by hand, within 30 days at the latest).
• The "Profile" page also lets a person download a copy of the data or delete the account at once, with no delay.
• An account with no visit for 12 months is deleted. The site sends no email: no warning is possible.
• Rows of the list history without an account (tied to the browser's anonymous identifier) are deleted when they are more than 6 months old (cleaned every Thursday morning).
• The operator makes backup copies of the database. They are replaced over time; the aim is not to keep them more than 30 days.

8. Deleting an account

A person can ask at any time for their account and the information tied to it to be deleted, in writing at hello@circulairesquebec.com, or at once with the button on the "Profile" page. The operator may also close an account that breaks these terms.

9. Children under 14

The site is not meant for children under 14. A person under 14 should not create an account without the agreement of a parent or guardian.

10. Changes

These terms can change. The version in force is the one on this page, with its date.

11. Applicable law
